The second series is all but confirmed. However, if you want more Haruhi, read the original novel that the series was based on. I'm currently looking for a copy myself - translated that is, unless I end up learning Japanese enough first (I'm taking Japanese language classes starting this fall). But this was a wonderful series. I'm so happy I finally was able to watch the entire thing through. It's extremely well made. Kyon and Haruhi particularly shine out, though that's to be expected as the narrator and main character respectively. But I find little wrong with this series; I can only see good points. The only difficulty is evaluating it without giving away the plot, because the power of Haruhi is intricately linked to that of the main plot (the first six episodes after Ep0, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). But I love it. However, I have a strange feeling finishing it. I want more, but I'm really at peace with everything too. I want to know what else happens, and I feel like there could be hundreds of zany adventures dreamed up by Haruhi, but at the same time I feel that it doesn't NEED anything more; that with an ending like that, I feel that everything is in good hands. At the same time, this series does not make my top five anime series, strangely enough. It's just about perfect, statistically, artistically, and emotionally - but not so perfect as to be imperfect, if you get my drift. But I don't feel the huge fanboyishness everybody has been talking about. It hasn't taken me by storm, but instead has me captivated, but not excited - I laugh a good deal, but I'm at peace with myself and it as well. I'd place this in my top ten, but it just doesn't make a fanboy out of me, so it falls back a couple slots. Still, I recommend this series to everyone out there. If you haven't seen Haruhi yet, do. It's not just overhyped, like say, Evangelion. It's good. Really good. trueLOTM out.

Is there a second season? This felt so incomplete. Great anime, but too short.

I actually kinda liked the dub version; mind you, I follow a mixed bag of dubbed and subbed anime - I like several ADV and Ocean Group VAs, and I'm always open to seeing at least one episode in dub before I decide it's no good. Haruhi's VA is kinda bubbly but not in the ditsy sort of way, but in the wild and zany sort, thus I don't find any problems with it. However, I do admit, I like the voice casting for the rest of the main cast a bit better, and Kyon's VA is perfect. Now, I'm pretty new to the Haruhi phenomenon; I try not to get sucked into cult followings, and follow this sort of thing at my own pace. But I LOVE it! This series is both hilarious and fun, and has just the amount of mystery, adventure, and excitement to fill the space needed for such a great series. And by the way, I liked Ep 0 as well - and it really got me laughing when things start to get revealed about episode 4. It was a good intro to the series, and the horrendousness of Haruhi's film had me laughing for quite a while. All in all, good show. I'll wait patiently for the rest, for I know it's worth it.
