Let me remind everyone only VII-X and XII were the only ones exclusive to Playstation. I-VI were exclusive to the NES and SNES.

So yes it wasn't the whole time.

ok.. let me clarify. since the playstaion came out.. how many ff games were put on the snes? im going to go with 0 making it the whole time there has been a playstation it has been exclusive to it. at least the numberd games.

11 is cross platform because they wanted to make a true cross platform game where everything playes on the same server no matter what hardware your on.

as for the nes and snes.. there really wasnt any other good console out at the time. genesis okay.. whatever and the dream cast or whatever. aparently not that good of a console seeing as it didnt last long at all. as for the genesis why put ff on it when everyone and their grandparents had a nes/snes?

so yea, there is reason for it to be a huge deal moving it to xbox. especially since everyone cares about the rivallry and everything. i personally dont care about the stupid "console war" i think its stupid and immature, thought that form the beginning still think that now. and its mianly only the idiot teenagers that care about it anyway who were getting game consoles when the xbox came about and was the huge buzz. which is why everyone thinks microsoft is so much better. im sorry but its really not. the only games xbox does well are shooter. and i just dont really care about them anymore. any other type of game is better on the wii or ps3)

alas shooter rule the market today so thats why everyone is getting their 360's larger base of people online that and the flood of games it has for it. most people still have a ps2 and since every game is going cross console theres no need to buy a ps3 yet. just wait till FF comes about. I promise the ps3 sales will skyrocket that week. I would guess that most of the fans of FF who have a 360 and dont yet have a ps3 are waiting for FF to come out to buy one. and I dont care about the other rpg's going to xbox.. they all have sucked imo anyway.

*face palm*

FF IV, V, and VI were originally made for the SNES (or should I say the Super Famicom) and were made before the PS1 came out. The versions that were made for the PS1 were ports. FF II, III, and V never made to the states so they called IV FFII and VI was called FFIII in the states. And FFVII was a opening release title for the PS1.

You can call me a 360 fanboy but I don't care. I just don't like it when someone puts down one system completely and not give the other one a chance. But I do tend to go on the 360 side more often because all PS3 fanboys always use that they have the best graphics. Plus the 360 is starting to get some good RPG's. It's just all the other genres on the 360 go to the XBLA. I'm also surprised that there isn't a big uproar for Tekken 6 coming to the 360.

This is what I think and see about the whole console war.

360- I have the best online service
PS3- I have the best hardware
Wii and DS- I have the best sales of all time but only have like two hardcore games.
PSP- I have better hardware than the DS but not as many good games as the DS
PC- everyone has forgotten about me and my top of the line hardware beat both the 360 and PS3 hardware combine.

Don't get me wrong I want a PS3 but I can't afford it right now.

Their both good consoles, both have good games, both have good exclusives, and both have good graphics.

you obviously still dont understand what i mean about ff but whatever.

as for the computer.. no noone has forgotten it. crisis?? and mmo's and RTS's and all fps play better on a pc. just not everyone is smart enough to maintain a computer so it plays games well and not everyone can afford to upgrade so often. PC has the best gaming period. I just wish I had more money these days. and another reason they try and push consoles is its harder to hack the games for it cause you have to mod your machine which can break it. for cracking games... its all software

What?

Whats there not to get? "There 0 FF's on the SNES." Where are you getting this info. cause I owned both FFII(really FFIV) and FFIII(really FFVI) on the SNES before the N64, PS1, and Dreamcast came out. FFV didn't come to the states until the PS1 port. FFII didn't come to the states until the GBA remake. FFIII didn't come to the states until the DS remake.

So yes FFI-III were originally exclusive to the NES.
FFIV-VI were originally exclusive to the SNES.
FFVII-XI were originally exclusive to the PS1.
And FFX and FFXII were originally exclusive to the PS2.

my point exactly. after the ps1 came out.. no FF numberd games came out on any other system than a playstation. ports that we didnt get in the states dont count.

Okay I see what you are saying now but what I'm trying to get at is that FF was originally exclusive to Nintendo and then switch to the Playstation. And that Playstation never owned the FF series to begin with so it can switch to another console if Square chooses to. So why does it have to stay on the Playstation? It switched once already so why can't they do it again?

No the N64 could play FFVII at least but like I said in one of my earlier posts it would have taken more than 10 cartridges to fit the whole game.

and thus the reason they switched. hardware wasnt capable of preforming the game at a reasonable level.

and then everyone and their grandmom had a ps2 so why switch? now you have xbox and ps3 which if they are sdeveloping it to push the ps3 then the xbox version is going to have to be dumbed down quite a bit

Yes I know its going to be dumb down a little but probably only in the graphics. Just as long as I'm playing the exact same game as the PS3 players then I don't care.

Is it difficult for game companies to make games for multiple platforms? Because if it is, I don't want Square-Enix to make any games for the 360, I would rather have them make their games only for the PS3 if that's the case.

Yeah it is because the hardware for both consoles are different. Plus why make games only for the PS3. I don't own a PS3 so if they make games for the other console that I have then it just makes it easier for me.

Plus I still don't get why everyone is mad about XIII going to the 360. At least more people will be able to enjoy it. And like I said FF wasn't always exclusive to the Playstation the whole time.

And the PS3 is still too expensive.
If it was exclusive to the PS3, they would have more freedom in developing the game even better. They have to hold back a bit because it will be on the 360 or they will just tone down the graphics and audio quite a bit.

Well don't everyone go crazy but the release date for FFXIII has been pushed back to April 2010. At least when it finally hits the states it should be a nice polished game for both consoles.
