Guess I need to update.

650 Watt PSU
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard
I7 920 CPU
6 Gigs tri-channel 1333 ram which overclocks. have had it to 1666 stable before
Nvidia GTX 260 superclocked GFX
onboard sound for the moment, need to rearange for my sound card but no big deal
1 150 GB Veloci Raptor as a system drive
1 raptor as a xp drive incase this machine dies and i need to revive my old one.
1 1 Terabyte segate (makes me sick) drive for storage. I hate segate
original G15 gaming keyboard with 18 G Keys.
G9x gaming mouse.
G13 game pad (dont really use)
surround sound is the Klipsche promedia ultra 5.1 which has some bad resistors now after 4 years.
have a stereo sound system that is old as god is
26 inch HDTV which sucks
2 dual layer dvd burners.

That is my system for now. monday i get my 1366 upgrade for my V1 cpu cooler and I might start messing with overclocking.

all of this is put in an old Thermaltake Xaser V case. and hooked up to my battery backup so i dont bow the powersupply with shit power from places

nice gear you two :) i put up with several home made pcs and a laptop

(mounted in a first gen ATX case *no usb mounted*)
amd phenom X3 8400
ECS HYBRID SLI mainboard
4gb 800mhz DDR2
2X hitachi 500gb hdd
DL DVD/RW
*modified* Nvidia GF 9400gt
hooked up to a 19"wide creen lcd and a 14" Dell lcd(ACChat window)
wired labtec mouse and MS kb

toshiba satellite LT317 laptop 3gb ram 360gb hdd

(mini atx case)
then theres my bed pc :)
intel atom 2x1.6ghz (Abit Prefab board)
2gb 800mhz DDR2
WD 250gb hdd
DL DVD/RW
hooked up to a 17" lcd on a wallmount over my bed :)
wireless KB/touchpad
Nvidia ION onboard graphics

then there are several shells sitting around ranging from 800mhz up and an old 486sx33 with 4mb ram and a 80mb hdd :) sitting in my loft

if you havnt guessed yet i am a bit of a pc scrap-man

*i prefer the ancient case for my main pc for 1 main reason :) its a quieter case than one i recently payed £80 ($140 ish) the old ones were built heavy and dont make as much noise but you have to modify them to get those all important front USB but WTH i modify pretty much anything i lay my hands on :) especially cases usually at least opening up the front fan area to stop that vacume cleaner effect at the front bottom of the case

i may have rambled on there a bit ill save anything else for if asked :)

Mac

Postby buttmuffin » April 29th, 2010, 6:35 pm

I would highly recommend a Macbook Pro if you are already planning to spend around a 1000 dollars on a laptop. Mac just recently upgraded the Intel processors on the Macbook Pro. As long as you down load Flip4Mac AC works.

Dude what you just mentioned is pretty much a new computer and with a new motherboard the onboard soundcard should be better than the one you have now. So you will probably be better off scrapping it.

I don't hate apple nearly as much as I can't stand a majority of its users.

I think a good step for AC would be having flash support for video's just for all those other mediums that support it.

I'm basically running a damn toaster. I had almost no graphics support (most likely an old 64mb onboard) before I upgraded with a.. crap, 256mb card? or maybe 512... I dunno, but I upgraded from 256 ram (damned DDR1 bullshit) to 768 (got my friend's old card) with a wireless connection with a $15 wireless card (works damned well) and running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Now take all that, and it's monitor is a 26" 720p widescreen, home theater sound system (low-end though), but it is like some crappy 2002 gateway. I hate gateway.
