Quick question about censorship

Postby Vercalos » June 8th, 2007, 9:49 pm

Is the censorship optional or required on the Anime episodes? I'm watching Ranma, and everytime there's nudity, the entire screen goes blocky. I don't mind the privates and stuff being censored(what little there are, considering they're only partially drawn), but the entire screen kinda drives me nuts. And I know the original wasn't censored, from clips I've seen elsewhere..

I doubt it's optional, but if it is, how do I turn it off?

<EDIT>

And sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I couldn't find it in the FAQ or a more appropriate forum.

Funny thing. I can actually view the uncensored versions on YouTube. Mostly because no one noticed, I'd imagine.

Well, most sites do not censor their media, even if a large percentage of their members are young. This site just happens to be one that does.

honestly, I was a little surprised, by simple virtue of the fact that you actually have to get a live membership in order to view the anime episodes... Not to mention it was originally aired for children as well, and then it was uncensored. It's a little incongruent, but I doubt that it'll change.

Yea, I dont agree with the censoring of media myself, but it's definitely something that will not change.
